Mark Twain General Music

The Mark Twain Steel Band is comprised of six of the best students at Mark Twain. These students show outstanding academic responsibility and are role models for all of our students at Mark Twain. Most are in band, and all of them are involved in plenty of other activities including, dance, sports, music lessons, etc.

The Members of the Mark Twain Steel Band: Matt Lee, Abby Saehler, Shayleigh Small, Barbera Tran, Mellissa Tran, Shelby Yoder.

The steel band performs on steel pans owned by Mr. Anderson. The group plays music from the island nation of Trinidad & Tobago. We also hope to add music from Cuba, Jamaica, Brazil, and a few American favorites as well.

This steel band is among a small number of steel bands in the state of Iowa. The following are a list of other steel bands in Iowa:
