Leap Drum Ensemble I

Leap Drum Ensemble I: Comprised of students from 1st and 2nd grade.

Leap Drum Ensemble I has been working on the songs "Lion Sleeps Tonight" , a drum piece played on chairs, and various music building skills from September through October.

Since late November through December, Leap Drum Ensemble I has been working on two song stories entitled "Senior Coyte" and "The Drumming Spider".

Members of Leap Drum Ensemble I: Alma Apololonio, Ricardo Corrales, Davon Covington, Madeline Fuhrmeister, Adonis Geanes, David Gleason, Chera Gleason, Devin Kindon, Drake Kindon, Shelby Kindon, Wakemia McCray, Makayla Reese, Brittany Neal, Santos Ruiz, Janesha Rush, Janiya Rush, Zaylonda Slayton, Mia Taylor, Markell White, Quantrell Williams, Ivan Villalpando.

 

Leap Drum Ensemble II

Leap Drum Ensemble II: Comprised of students from 3rd and 4th grades, this ensemble plays instruments, rhythms, and songs from Cuba and Africa. The songs we have learned thus far are:
        • Oye Coma Va (Cuba)
        • Funwa Alafia (Liberia)
        • Take Time in Life (Liberia)
        • Kokoleoko (Liberia)

Memebers of Leap Drum Ensemble II: Quinton Cook, Quadarious Gordon, Alivia Lindsey, Rudy Moncallo, Ja'Mari Muldrow, Tre'Von Neal, Savannah Reese, Nina Ruiz, Faron Rush, Mike Smith, Mitchell Smith, Dante Taylor, Ladarius Taylor, Julissa Villalpando, Jacob Wallace.

Mulata.....................(baby) mulata is a descriptive word for a preatty lady.
