Justification: Documentation of child abuse background
check from the Iowa Department of Human Services and criminal history from

district and building goals.

Justification: The
LEAP Drum Ensembles contribute to building and district goals by providing
literature and cultural connections through music instruction. Specific
building and district goals include increased reading comprehension and multi
cultural studies required by Multi Cultural Gender Fair.

an understanding of and respect for all learners and staff.

Justification: The web site communicates
my approach of music education for students who need adaptive instruction
due to various mental or physical developmental disabilities. The
lesson plan taught during week 3 of the 2006/2007 demonstrates implementation
of communication, motor, social, and cognitive skills.
- Collaborates
with students, families, colleagues, and communities to enhance student
learning.

Justification: This was a collaborative
project with LEAP staff, media staff, and administration in the district and in
the building. Community involvement also made this educational opportunity
possible by donations from Danes Dairy and West Music Company. Student
learning was enhanced through public performance of curriculum studied, public
representation of Mark Twain, and students’ awareness of support from the
building, and community.
